Like other vampire movies posters, this ad’s general audience is people who are interested in vampire story and immortal life. However, what’s interesting in this poster is that the major character is a young boy, who is only sixteen years old. In terms of that, this poster can attract teenagers’ attention too.
The promise of this ad is that if you watch this movie, you will see how a sixteen-year-old boy goes on immortal and what the world of the vampire is like.
It seems the ad-makers assume that people who are interested in vampire story and immortal life would like to see how the life goes in the film and teenagers would be curious about what a sixteen-year-old vampire is like.
As you see, there is a guy who looks very young, and the captions say that “meet Darren”, so we notice that the young guy’s name is Darren. By the way, if we look at the tombstone that Darren is stepping on, we can realize that Darren has died at his age of 16, which makes us curious about how a guy who is dead can be alive and step on his own tombstone, which cannot happen in human’s world.
The background is so dark that we can’t see the people’s faces exactly; the ad stimulates our curiosities by setting that background, and more interesting thing is that they are standing on a graveyard alive, which represents the difference between the vampire’s world and the human’s; while people die, the vampires don’t. This one also makes us want to know about vampire’s world.
What’s more, other 3 people behind Darren are dressed pretty much like normal vampire, but Darren is dressed just like other human teenagers, so we feel more familiar with him. Therefore the teenagers might think that he is just one of them, so they want to know about him and watch this movie more.
To sum up, this poster is quite successful in terms that it stimulates people’s or teenager’s curiosities.

Advertisements, and what they appeal
If we pay attention a little bit more, we can see advertisements everywhere; on the road, in the buiding, on TV, in soccer field, on Internet and so on.
Do we get them? I mean, do we know what they want to say? Of course, we know what they want us to do. 'Buying it'. However we don't know that much about what they try to say. They might cheat on us, and we don't want to be cheated, do you? Surely no, because you don't want to look like a fool who just do what the advertisements want you to do.
Then we should know at first what and how they try to say.
Look at the picture on the left, how do you think that ad trys to cheat on us? we definately know what that wants us to do. That's just 'drink it'! Yes, but, how?
The answer is that this ad stimulates our psychological need, thirst.
See the bottle of beer closer, and you would realize that the bottle seems pretty cold and fresh because of dewdrops on the bottle. Next, you would think that you really want to drink it so the beer can cold you if you are sweating and just coming from a game of basket ball.
What's more, it seems that once you turn the tab, you can just drink it. You don't have to find an opener. Even a cup is just next to you. How comfortable!
The most powerful element in this ad is the water purifier that every one has in their home so they can drink some water whenever they feel thirsty. We can't live without drinking water, so we drink it everyday. They want us to think of heineken as a bottle of water that we drink everyday. That is a kind of how ads cheat on us.
After seeing that ad, if you come to think of a bottle of heineken when you get home from workingout, it means that you get cheated, and the pubilicity part of heineken win.

not something wrong, but something different
You wanna go to the restaurant and try some Korean foods? Well, let me think.
Yes! I've got something, but you may not like it. The thing is;
What do you think? You hate it? Yes, I understand. But I want to tell you about the real Korean-dog-eating-culture, which you might have misunderstood so far, and I think, after hearing it, you may feel like trying, don't you think so? Then, tonight would be the very special moment in your life, wouldn't it? :)
At first, let me tell you "the History of 보신탕 in Korea".
It was a very long time ago that our ancestors started eating dog, and, when cho-sun dynatsy, 보신탕 became very popular. Since that time was the agricultural age, people worked with cows, which were very expensive to buy, so they couldn't eat them. Instead, people ate dogs that were the only farm-raising-animals for having protains.
What's interesting is that our ancestors also had some kinds of dogs that they never ate as we do now; think about puppys in many houses today. we never eat them. They called them "구(狗)" and called the edible ones "견(犬)", which means, they were not that mean to eat what thay lived with as other country's people think.
What's more, 보신탕 is well-known for a high nutritive and healthy food.
It has lots of protains and is 10times easier to digest than pork or beef, and The oil of dog meat contains very little cholestarol so people can eat it with no worrys about the adult-disease.
We eat the dog meat seasoned (무침-seasoned dog meat) as well as boiled(보신탕).
무침 is a very nice side dish with race or even with drink. People drink 소주 or 막걸리, which are Korean traditional drinks, with the 무침.
Well, as you know, dog eating culture of Korea could seem very weird, disgusting or even cruel to some people who have the ethnocentrism. I totally disagree with them not because I eat 보신탕, but because I think it's not something wrong, it's just something different. If they don't accept the difference, at least they shouldn't blame on it for such an unreasonable reason like, as a Franch woman said, "How can you Korean people eat dog that is like our family".
I don't want to blame them, but I'm just wondering that how Franch people can eat beef that is like a God for Hindu.
